Qantas is putting over 125,000 economy and premium seats on sale for a week, covering popular Asian destinations including Singapore, Japan, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Manila and Jakarta. Business-class returns start at $3699 on routes from Perth or Darwin to Singapore, and $4099 from Sydney to Manila or Bangkok.
Economy deals begin at $599 from Perth or Darwin to Singapore, $1009 from Brisbane to Manila and $1149 from Brisbane or Melbourne to Narita in Tokyo.
The sale runs alongside blackout periods that block travel in weeks of peak demand, a contrast to the carrier’s recent domestic promotion that stretched across school holidays and long weekends. That earlier domestic campaign allowed discounted tickets during some of the busiest travel periods, while this international sale steers customers to off-peak dates instead.
Qantas is targeting travellers flexible enough to shift their trips to less congested weeks.
Demand for Asia flights has been particularly strong since conflict flared in the Middle East, pushing many travellers to reroute away from that region. Data from the Association of Asia-Pacific Airlines shows passenger numbers on Asian services in March rose 8.5% compared with a year earlier.
The increase explains why Qantas is leaning into Asia-focused promotions rather than trimming capacity. These sharper fares may help the airline lock in customers before rivals expand their own Asian schedules.
