Police say the private equity executive, who runs TPG Capital’s Australian operations and jointly leads TPG Asia, first collided with a Mazda before crashing into another four parked cars near Centennial Park on Monday evening. The incident unfolded on York Road in Queens Park.
According to NSW Police, officers from the Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command responded at about 7.20pm on Monday 1 June 2026 after reports of a crash on York Road. On arrival they found a BMW that had allegedly struck five vehicles in total, including the Mazda and four stationary cars.
Police then attempted to conduct a roadside breath test, which the executive is accused of refusing.
Officers allege the TPG Capital executive also refused further breath analysis after being arrested and taken to Paddington Police Station. Under NSW road laws, declining breath testing procedures can carry significant penalties.
The combination of a multi-vehicle collision and alleged non-compliance with testing protocols has put intense scrutiny on the incident.
