Herron Todd White is cutting roles across Australia as it shifts back-office work into a new centralised hub in South Australia.

Australia’s largest residential valuation firm by volume plans a net reduction of 40 roles as part of a major restructuring of its operations. The group is consolidating administrative and operational functions into a new service hub based in South Australia, centralising work previously spread across multiple offices.

Up to 100 positions look set to disappear nationally under the plan, according to information provided to industry contacts. The company is offsetting some of those losses by creating 60 customer service jobs in Adelaide and another 60 administrative support roles in Manila.

The restructure aims to streamline support functions while leaving Herron Todd White’s core valuation services unchanged across residential, commercial and agribusiness sectors. The firm says it intends to maintain its existing national office network and local market expertise, even as more back-office tasks shift to the new central hub and offshore team.

Internal communications emphasise a commitment to customer service continuity despite the operational overhaul. Management is also signalling that the business remains focused on national coverage while pursuing cost efficiencies.

Affected staff are being offered consultation, support and potential redeployment opportunities as the changes roll out. Herron Todd White is under pressure to balance rising labour and operating costs against fee competition in the valuation market, pushing it towards centralisation and offshore support.

Industry observers note that outsourcing administrative work to locations such as Manila is becoming more common among professional services firms looking to protect margins. The firm is attempting to reassure clients and lenders that front-line valuation work still sits with its Australian network.
