Its menu leans heavily into the protein and fibre trend, built around salad bowls and sandwiches that aim to feel indulgent but positioned as nutritionally “better for you”. Growing consumer interest in healthier options, partly accelerated by the popularity of weight-loss medications, underpins the chain’s expansion timing.

Positioning remains crucial for Cali Press as it frames its food through a “health lens”, pitching flavour-forward meals that also deliver nutritional benefits. The business sits within a fast-growing cluster of Australian brands that market themselves as healthy fast food, a segment moving from niche to mainstream.

The decision to highlight macronutrient content such as protein and fibre aligns with how many customers now track meals, particularly those influenced by weight-loss drugs and fitness apps. That tight alignment between product design and shifting dietary habits is central to its growth strategy.
