What is the Big Conversation?

The Big Conversation is a weekly anonymous poll of corporate Australia on the topics nobody raises at work: pay rises, parental leave, the pay gap and life in the office. Each one is written up with the numbers and the best answers, word for word, in Flat White and here.

Fridge thieves, work drinks, impossible job ads and whatever happened in the new bathrooms. A few of the submissions we have posted, as they went out.

  • A community submission posted by The Aussie Corporate: is the rise of fridge theft a recession indicator? Photos of office fridge notes calling out the thief who took a pizza and a can of Coke Zero.
  • An anonymous poll posted by The Aussie Corporate: when do work drinks stop being work drinks? It's work drinks as long as a colleague is there 42%, when you change venues 26%, when management leaves the table 24%, when you leave the office 9%.
  • A community submission posted by The Aussie Corporate: a job listing for a Divisional Risk Manager in Melbourne asking for a minimum of 68 years of relevant experience.
  • A community submission posted by The Aussie Corporate: after four months of office renovations, someone emptied a heap of fruit salad into one of the new toilets.
