How do our surveys work?

A few times a year we run an anonymous survey on pay, bonuses, leave and life at work. We never ask for a name or a work email. 40,000+ submissions have come in so far. This year that meant the 2026 Salary Survey and the 2026 Parental Leave Survey.

Headline figures go on this site with the survey name and the month the data was collected. The full data lives in AusCorp Vault.

Are submissions really anonymous?

Yes. Submissions and poll answers come to us through Instagram, and we publish what the community tells us in its own words, without names. Our surveys never ask for a name or an employer email, and results are published only where enough people answered for nobody to be picked out. We never publish anything that would identify the person who sent it, and a tip stays between you and us.

How we decide what to publish

1

It starts with you

Most of what we publish starts with a submission, a poll answer or a tip sent to us on Instagram.

2

We check what we can

We check what we can before anything goes out, and leave out what we cannot stand behind.

3

Names come out

We publish the community's words without names, and never anything that would identify the person who sent it.

4

We show our working

Survey figures carry the survey name and the month the data was collected. If we get something wrong, we correct it.

Every Big Conversation carries a Correct something link that brings you here.
