What is the average graduate salary in Australia?

The median graduate base salary in our 2025 survey was $87,000, for graduate roles with a 2025 start date. The spread between the top and the bottom was more than $150,000.

What we found

  • Highest median base by industry: financial services $120,000. By sector, investment banking $170,000
  • Big 4 banks: NAB $89,000, Commonwealth Bank $80,500, Westpac $77,500, ANZ $76,250
  • Big 4 firms: PwC $74,000, EY $73,250, KPMG $73,000, Deloitte $72,000
  • 34% of graduates are expected to work more than 40 hours a week
  • 82% of graduates would recommend their company

How the graduate salary survey works

Graduates tell us what they are paid in their first year. The 2025 survey drew over 1,000 submissions from our community, covering about 200 companies and firms across the biggest and most competitive industries in the graduate market.

The figures on this page cover graduate roles with a 2025 start date. If a figure looks wrong for your firm, tell us and we will check it.

The median graduate base salary in our 2025 graduate salary survey was $87,000, for graduate roles with a 2025 start date. Base salaries ran from $45,500 for an accounting graduate at Accenture to $197,309 for a software engineering graduate at Google.
