Webjet Group has turned to a former Wesfarmers executive to lead its next phase of growth, naming Nicole Sheffield as CEO from 20 July.

Sheffield most recently ran Wesfarmers’ digital, data and loyalty arm OneDigital, giving her deep experience in customer analytics and online platforms.

Her resume includes senior executive roles at Australia Post, News Corp Australia and Seven West Media, spanning logistics, media and e-commerce. The appointment follows the resignation of Katrina Barry, with chief financial officer Layton Shannos filling the CEO role on an interim basis since May.

Webjet’s board positions Sheffield to execute its strategy around sustainable growth and operational efficiency, leaning heavily on her background in data-driven businesses. OneDigital at Wesfarmers focused on integrating loyalty programmes, customer insights and digital sales, experience that aligns closely with Webjet’s travel marketplace model.

Previous roles at Australia Post and media groups exposed her to large-scale customer networks and complex digital transformations. Her mix of experience signals a focus on innovation, platform performance and long-term shareholder value.
